St. Joseph Monastery

Sister Christine Ereiser was elected prioress of St. Joseph Monastery, Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Sister Christine has been serving the community in two major positions, as subprioress and treasurer.  She brings to this role long-standing experience in administration as well as twenty years of lived experience in the monastic way of life.

The process for the election began with Sister Karen Bland (standing) leading the sisters through a discernment process.

Much discussion took place with listening hearts to one
another in the discernment process.

 

Sisters sought God's will in their hearts and in
personal reflection and prayer
.


 

 

 

 

The canonical election began with the secretary and tellers swearing an oath of confidentiality with their hands placed on the Bible.

 

 



 

One by one the sisters
 came forward
with their ballots.

 

 



Sister Emily,100 years old, came forward and placed her ballot in the basket during the election process.
